Social protection program

Social protection whose strategic objective is to increase access to social protection services for children, women and other vulnerable persons in counties of focus by 15 % by 2025.

Conflict and insecurity have continued to undermine the governance institutions of South Sudan and diminished state-society relations, as well as the national identity of the South Sudanese people. Insecurity remains pervasive and continues to keep people in Internally Displaced camps and refugee camps in foreign countries. The government and development partners are working together to provide much-needed services to the IDPs and ensure there is social support for the most vulnerable like children, the elderly, and the disabled.

AFOD’s contributions to the protection of IDPs and other vulnerable groups is aimed at increasing access to and demand for social protection and support services for children, women, and other vulnerable persons in its areas of operation. AFOD will continue to work in partnership with the GoSS and other partners in the delivery of protection services in IDP camps and communities affected by insecurity and where injustice is pervasive.
