Key Program Areas

To achieve our vision and mission and based on the organizations strategic capabilities and program opportunities in South Sudan, we deliver a package of six high impact ,cost effective programs in collaboration with Government line ministries and departments, NNGOs, CBOS,  INGOs, UN agencies and as well as with  Public private partnership (PPP) or organization to provide sustainable solutions to the common problems of our communities in the remotest, conflict and disaster prone areas including areas hosting IDPs in counties of focus. These six core program areas are;

  1. Integrated health services
  2. Nutrition, food security & sustainable livelihood
  3. Environmental health (water, sanitation and hygiene)
  4. Basic and vocational Education
  5. Social protection
  6. Institutional capacity building and Development

The overall program goal of the country program is to contribute to improvement of social and economic status and hence quality of life of the people of South Sudan especially vulnerable children and women in hard to reach communities by 2020. The six thematic priorities and strategic objectives will contribute to the realization of the overall development goals, mission and vision in five years (2015 – 2020) and these are as follows:

To increase access to integrated health promotion, disease prevention and curative services for children, women and men in counties of focus by 25% by 2020

To increase access to and demand for nutrition, food security and livelihood products and services for children, women and other targeted persons in the counties of focus by 25% by 2020

To increase access to and use of safe water, sanitation and hygiene services in health facilities, schools and communities by 25% by 2020.

To improve access to equitably delivered basic and vocation education services for vulnerable and marginalized populations especially girl children in counties of focus by 30% by 2020.

To increase access to social protection services for children, women and other vulnerable persons in counties of focus by at least 20% by 2020

To strengthen organizational capacity to effectively and efficiently govern, lead and manage the country program.

In order to achieve the program goals and objectives by end of 2020, AFOD adopted sustainable, innovative, synergistic, high impact and inclusive community-based implementation strategies that shall maximize results through integration of services for synergy and complementary, partnerships and networks, capacity building, community linkage, monitoring and evaluation of all projects and programs
