The Story of Marich Changthok in Pagarau Payam, Yirol East County, Lakes State, SS

Marich Changthok is 66 years old man born blind. He got married to Achienyang Bol Machok in Pachak village and were not blessed with children.

Changthok arrived to Pagarau, Yirol East, Lakes State from Pachak village in May 2020 as an IDP due to communal conflicts, flooding from the swamps as a result of heavy rains and lived under poor shelters, inadequate medical services etc in Pagarau till now. His main source of livelihood was fishing but due to the long sickness, he has been on bed under poor shelter which later collapsed. He has been supported by his wife throughout these difficulties.

Changthok was approached by AFOD CCCM team through the Outreach Assistants, he main needs identified are Shelter, NFI (Clothes and Kitchen items) and Food.

AFOD took the initiative to construct for him and other vulnerable individuals (Elderly, PSNs) through the Cash for Work Initiative under the CCCM Project funded by SSHF and clothes mobilized from well-wishers.

Changthok was very happy and thanked the AFOD team for the support.
